London’s Mayor Johnson made some statements comparing the emerging European Union with attempts at European unity by Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler:
May 15, 2016
Ex-London Mayor Boris Johnson has compared the European Union’s aims to those of Adolf Hitler, arguing that the 28-nation bloc is creating a superstate that mirrors the attempt of the Nazi leader to dominate the European continent. …
Johnson, the most prominent political figure arguing that Britain should leave the EU — opting for “Brexit” — says the past 2,000 years of European history had been dominated by doomed attempts to unify the continent. He said while EU officials are using “different methods” from the Nazi regime, they share the aim of unifying Europe under one “authority.”
He was quoted as saying “Napoleon, Hitler, various people tried this out, and it ends tragically. The EU is an attempt to do this by different methods.” http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/boris-johnson-european-union-hitler-1.3583108

Iain Duncan Smith has backed Boris Johnson’s claim that the EU has the same goal as Hitler in trying to create a political superstate, despite the remain camp branding the comments “offensive and desperate”. …
Duncan Smith, the former work and pensions secretary, said Johnson’s interview was “rather good”.
Defending Johnson’s use of “historical parallels”, Duncan Smith said: “He talked about this nonsensical idea of trying to drive these different countries [together]. It’s a historical fact of life that if you go through Napoleon, Hitler, everyone else … I think the whole process of trying to drive Europe together by force or by bureaucracy ultimately makes problems.” …
Lord Lamont said the headline for Johnson’s comments was misleading, telling Murnaghan on Sky News: “I don’t think [Johnson] was saying people who favour the European Union were comparable to Nazis.
“He was simply saying that historically, from the Romans, Charlemagne, Napoleon, there have been all sorts of attempts to dominate Europe and these have all floundered because Europe is not naturally one entity.”
Asked if Johnson’s remarks were helpful to the leave campaign, Lamont said: “I don’t actually think what he said, as it was said, was so outrageous. I think the headline is misleading.”
Pressed on whether he wished Johnson had not made the comments, Lamont said: “I myself referred not so long ago but was very careful to say, ‘I’m not comparing people who support Europe to Nazis’, but it actually is a fact there were fascist theorists who believed very strongly in a united Europe.”
Johnson made the comments in a newspaper interview after touring the south-west on a Vote Leave battlebus, as speculation grows that he will make a move for the Tory leadership if Cameron resigns in the event of a British exit from the EU or narrow remain vote.
On Sunday, the Ukip leader, Nigel Farage, backed Johnson to succeed Cameron if this happens, describing himself as a “Boris fan” and comparing him to the former US presidentRonald Reagan.http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/may/15/boris-johnson-likens-eu-to-nazi-superstate
We now are seeing a real battle heating up in the UK related to a possible Brexit (also called a Brixit). Brexit is short for BRitish EXIT and Brixit is short for BRItish exIT from the European Union.
Prime Minister Cameron announced that the vote on staying or leaving the EU would take place on June 23, 2016.
US President Barack Obama threatened that the UK would be in ‘the back of the queue’ for trade talks if it voted to leave the European Union. Republican candidate Donald Trump has taken a different view:
May 15, 2016
Donald Trump has said leaving the EU would not put Britain at the back of the queue to secure a US trade deal under his presidency – a move applauded by the Ukip leader, Nigel Farage, who admitted he had reservations about backing the controversial Republican.
Referring to Barack Obama’s warning to Britain over the EU referendum, Trump, who is on track to secure the Republican nomination, said: “I think if I were from Britain I would probably want to go back to a different system.”
Questioned about Britain’s place in any queue under a Trump presidency in an interview with Piers Morgan, to be broadcast on ITV on Monday, he said: “I don’t want to say front or anything else.
“I mean, I’m going to treat everybody fairly but it wouldn’t make any difference to me whether they were in the EU or not. You’d certainly not be at the back of the queue, that I can tell you.”
Responding to clips from the broadcast, shown on ITV’s Peston on Sunday, Farage, who had criticised Obama’s intervention, welcomed Trump’s comments. He said: “It just goes to show Donald Trump is measured, neutral, doesn’t want to get stuck into the punch-up. He’s given a very diplomatic answer.” http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/may/15/eu-referendum-donald-trump-brexit-uk-back-queue-us
While I am NOT a fan of Donald Trump (nor Hillary Clinton), I agree with him on talks with the UK. The USA should not push the UK to the ‘back of the line’ on trade matters if the UK votes to leave the EU.
We will see if those in the UK will vote to extract itself from an international confederation which ultimately will eliminate most national sovereignty (cf. Revelation 17:12-13).
Now will Europe unite?
Yes. Europe, however, will have at least two biblically-prophesied reorganizations:
12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)
The above power is also tied to the city of seven hills (Revelation 17:7-9)–Rome (cf. Revelation 17:9,18).
Will Babylonian Beast power this be anything like Napoleon or Hitler?
Well, it will be worse.
Notice Revelation 13:
1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:1-18)
The Book of Daniel (7:2-8) tells of a Beast rising from the “Great Sea.” The ‘great sea’ that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4; 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) is the Mediterranean Sea.
Since the Bible teaches that the Beast of the Sea, is the Beast of the Mediterranean Sea, this is a European power reminiscent of the old Roman Empire and the old, so-called, ‘Holy Roman Empire.’
Revelation 13 is discussing the alliance between the Beast of the Sea (also called the King of the North in Daniel 11) and the Beast of the Earth (also known as the False Prophet or final Antichrist).
Yet, few politicians understand this.
Notice some of what Jesus said about the time when Europe will rule:
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)
Notice part of Revelation 18:
1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6 Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day — death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her. (Revelation 18:1-8)
What Europe will end up becoming will be worse than Napoleon and even worse than Adolf Hitler. Europe will support the final Antichrist.
As far as the UK goes, it will be taken over by the European power, no matter how it votes next month.
