European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrel, has been brokering the nuclear negotiations involving Iran and said that he thinks the deal is “in danger.” Iran blames the United States, whereas the USA says they are not delaying it. Israeli sources stated that Israel will stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. Joe Biden says the USA would use its own military power to prevent Iran from getting such a bomb if need be. In 2021, Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040. Does the 22nd chapter of Isaiah point to damage coming to Israel from Iran and possibly Syria? Might Iran be concerned enough about limited progress with the USA to launch some type of attack? Is Iran the prophesied 'King of the South'? Is it reasonable to think that the prophesied peace deal of Daniel 9:27 will not happen until after a military conflict. like a regional war? Should Christians watch the Middle East? Dr. Thiel and Steve Dupuie discuss these matters.

US Tells Israel Nuclear Deal With Iran Is Off The Table For Now
September 8, 2022
The Israeli news website Zman Yisrael said it has “learned” that a new nuclear deal between the US and Iran is off the table and will not be signed in the “foreseeable future.”
Zman Yisrael didn’t cite any sources but said that this message had been conveyed to Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid in recent conversations with President Biden and other US officials. Other major Israeli publications picked up on the story, as Bloomberg writes, “Top US officials have told Israel’s Prime Minister Yair Lapid that a nuclear deal between Iran and world powers won’t be signed in the foreseeable future, The Times of Israel reported.” …
The EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrel, has been brokering the negotiations, but said on Monday that he thinks the deal is “in danger.” The comments marked Borrel’s most pessimistic remarks about the talks they were recently restarted by the EU. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/us-tells-israel-nuclear-deal-iran-taken-table-report

Standing next to an F-35 fighter jet, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Tuesday issued a threat to Iran, warning the Islamic Republic that it could soon feel Israel’s “long arm.”
In a video posted on Twitter, … Lapid said …
“If Iran continues to test us, it will discover Israel’s long arm and capabilities. We will continue to act on all fronts against terrorism and against those who seek to harm us,” …
Lapid said in the video that he and President Biden agreed the US wouldn’t constrain Israel if it wanted to attack Iran.
“As President Biden and I agreed, Israel has full freedom to act as we see fit to prevent the possibility of Iran becoming a nuclear threat,” he said. …
Israel has a history of carrying out covert attacks inside Iran and is suspected of being behind a string of mysterious deaths that occurred inside the country this past Spring. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/israels-prime-minister-delivers-threat-iran-while-standing-next-f-35
Last month, ZeroHedge reported the following:
Iran Slams US For Procrastinating On Nuclear Deal
August 23, 2022
Iran has accused the United States of procrastinating on the nuclear deal that the two are trying to negotiate with the help of the European Union.
“The Americans are procrastinating and there is inaction from the European sides. … America and Europe need an agreement more than Iran,” Nasser Kanaani, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, told media as quoted by Reuters.
Washington has denied the accusation, with State Department spokesman Ned Price saying, “The notion that we have delayed this negotiation in any way is just not true.”
The two sides are currently mulling over a final proposal submitted to them by the European Union earlier this month. https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/iran-slams-us-procrastinating-nuclear-deal
Notice the following from July:
July 14, 2022
The United States would use military force “as a last resort” to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, U.S. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday.
“Iran cannot get a nuclear weapon,” Biden told Channel 12 in an interview that aired shortly after his arrival in Israel for his first official visit as president.
The U.S. president emphasized, however, that his administration remains committed to reviving the 2015 nuclear deal between world powers and Tehran.
“I think it was a giant mistake for the previous president to get out of the deal,” said Biden, in reference to former U.S. leader Donald Trump’s 2018 decision to withdraw from the accord.
According to Biden, now the Iranians “are closer to a nuclear weapon than ever before.”
However, he continued, “We can act against [Iranian terrorism] and still have a deal that can curtail the nuclear program,” he said. “I still think it makes sense.”
Asked whether he would authorize the use of force if need be to prevent the Islamic Republic from obtaining nuclear weapons, Biden answered: “As a last resort, yes.” https://www.israel365news.com/271375/biden-us-would-use-force-as-last-resort-to-prevent-iran-from-obtaining-nuke/
So, the USA has publicly indicated it may be willing to engage Iran militarily and Iran is frustrated with delays it blames the USA for. This may provoke Iran to lash out in order to attempt to attain its objective of taking over Jerusalem in its attempt to show it should lead the Muslim world.
That said, notice the following that is in my book titled Biden-Harris: Prophecies and Destruction: related to Iran:
Iran and Prophecy
Joe Biden wants to have the U.S.A. rejoin the nuclear deal with Iran that Donald Trump pulled the U.S.A. out of. [i]
He also might be more willing than the Obama-Biden Administration had been to trigger enforcement provisions if he feels Iran has violated portions of the agreement.
After Donald Trump’s election, Iran declared it would pursue development of nuclear powered ships.[ii]
Because Bible prophecy indicates that it will be primarily Arabic nations that support the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-8), though with some (probably temporary per Daniel 11:25-26) support from Turkey and possibly Pakistan and/or Afghanistan, it is not biblically possible that Iran can truly be the leader of the Islamic world as it seems to want to be. Also, because it is basically due east of Jerusalem, Iran should not be considered to be a candidate to be the final ‘King of the South’ of biblical prophecy.
Despite its posturing and relative military strength, Iran will be somehow effectively neutralized (cf. Ezekiel 32:24). This could perhaps be from an attack involving Israel and/or internal civil unrest — this could also include electromagnetic (EMP) or similar weapons used against Iran (Jeremiah 49:34-39).
It is of prophetic interest to note that the small nation of Israel is prophesied to one day be attacked by some that seem to have connection to Iran and its ally Syria (Isaiah 22:1-14).
In January 2021, it was reported, “Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040, Iranian state media ISNA reported.” [iii]
Iran may decide to strike out against Israel, and likely Jerusalem (cf. Isaiah 22:7-8) if it determines that it should. If it is frustrated with the Biden-Harris Administration policies or delays, that may very well be a factor in it taking prophesied military action.
Iran has weapons that can cause damage. Furthermore, the U.S.A. itself, as well as the State of Israel, are vulnerable to EMP type attacks and even items such as biological weapons, chemical weapons, terrorism, nuclear weapons, dirty bombs, etc. because of a conflict involving Iran, Syria, and/or others.
But should this attack occur, this would NOT be the final destruction of the U.S.A. Prophetically, Iran would not end up faring well (cf. Ezekiel 32:24-25). …
In the future, a Biden/Harris Administration may attempt to get Israel to accept the type of “peace deal” that Daniel 9:27 seems to refer to. This looks to be something to occur in the first term of the Biden/Harris Administration.
A confirmation of a particular deal with a time element in it by a European ‘prince’ will set the countdown for the rise of the Beast and the destructive Great Tribulation. …
As far as certain end-time events go, here is a brief semi-sequential summary of some items:
The basic sequence is that certain sorrows, violence, and troubles will continue (Mark 13:7-8). This is happening. The ‘peace’ deal of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed. Deals have been proposed, but the biblical one has not yet been made nor confirmed. Because of prophecies related to the destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1) and great damage to be done to Jerusalem (Isaiah 22:8-9), one or both of those events may well precede the deal of Daniel 9:27.
A King of the North (who was a ‘prince’ in Daniel 9:27) and a King of the South (Daniel 11:27) will arise. They will make a lying deal together (Daniel 11:27). …
The King of the North is discussed in Daniel 11. Now before he is called a “king,” this same leader is called a prince in Daniel 9:26.
Daniel 9:27 shows that this leader takes the same actions that the King of the North does in Daniel 11:31. This prince is foretold to come from the people who destroyed the temple sanctuary in Jerusalem. Since those that destroyed the second temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. were part of the Roman Empire, and that prince later is to come from those people, this shows that he is European.

Wars tend to precede peace deals, and Iranian frustration with the Biden-Harris Administration as well as threats from Israel may well embolden Iran to attack Israel consistent with prophecies in Isaiah 22.
Israel is willing to attack.
The military reality is that Iran has the ability to cause “great damage” to Israel as well as to cause some damage to the USA. Notice something that the prophet Isaiah was inspired to write about damage coming to Jerusalem:
6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots,And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. 11 You also made a reservoir between the two walls For the water of the old pool. But you did not look to its Maker, Nor did you have respect for Him who fashioned it long ago. (Isaiah 22:8-11 NKJV)
Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran. The old Worldwide Church of God published the following:
Iranians comprise nearly 70 percent of the country. Iranians, though Islamic, are totally distinct from the neighboring Arab peoples of the Middle East. They are a mixed people of the remnants of Media and Elam and other ancestors of Semitic and Hamitic stock. (Stump K. South Asia in Prophecy. Plain Truth, July/August 1986, p. 5)
The Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir. While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting. Some believe Kir is an area in the south of Iran, while others suggest closer to the Black Sea. God’s word has the expression “the Syrians from Kir” (Amos 9:7), which is basically confirmation that Kir of Isaiah 22 would include Syrians. The Bible also tells of a time when Kir will be destroyed (Isaiah 15:1b) and also says that Syria’s capital Damascus will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1). Since Syria is Iran’s closest ally, military cooperation between the two of them against Israel looks consistent with the prophecy in Isaiah 22.
UPDATE 09/09/22: As far as military cooperation goes, notice the following:
REPORT: Iran building large base in eastern Syria for ‘advanced weapons’
September 9, 2022
The Syrian opposition website Ayn Al-Furat (“Eye of Euphrates”) asserts in an “exclusive” article on Thursday that Iran is constructing “a large base to hold advanced weapons” close to Ayn Ali, in the Deir Al-Zour region of eastern Syria. …
like the Imam Ali base, recently established by Iran in the desert near Al-Bukamal, the new base is being built in the desert as well, where the “second-largest concentration of Iranian forces in eastern Syria” is located.
Thirty officers from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of various ranks and expertise arrived in the area recently on a flight from Damascus to the military airfield in Deir Al-Zour. https://www.israel365news.com/274624/report-iran-building-large-base-in-eastern-syria-for-advanced-weapons/
So, Iran and Syria are increasing their military ties.
Now, in Isaiah 22: 8, “Judah” is a reference to those in the land commonly called Israel–God will allow Israel to be attacked! In Isaiah 22:9, consider that “the damage to the city of David” is a reference to at least part of Jerusalem–and notice that the damage will be great. Also notice part of the reason will be because Israel will not truly look to “its Maker.” Just relying on its own military will not be enough.
I have long believed that we may very well see a regional war as Israel has 1) taken preemptive actions in the past and 2) has said it would do so in the future to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear bomb.
Such a regional war could trigger the deal of Daniel 9:27 and trigger the final 3 1/2 year countdown until the start of the Great Tribulation Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24:21.
While Iran is not in a position to conquer the USA, it can cause damage. Iranian leaders are probably now trying to figure out what will happen next–and Iran in is likely looking at many options, including military ones.
We are in a time of wars and rumors of wars as Jesus foretold (Matthew 24:4-8).
That being said, despite military positions of both sides, battles between Iran, Syria, and Israel will not end well for Israel (cf. Isaiah 22:6-8) nor Iran (cf. Ezekiel 32:24-25) nor Syria (cf. Isaiah 17:1).
