BOOK REVIEW:
Christians: Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God opens with a definition of what it is to be an ambassador. It then describes what role The Church has in terms of Christians being ambassadors; showing from scripture, an ambassador is what a True Christian is instructed to be in this world.
The book then covers a myriad of scriptures from the Old and New Testaments that give instructions for godly living. This book collects these practical instructions from scripture – all of which are still relevant and applicable for the life of a Christian today. The book takes the reader on a journey that shows that the life of a True Christian is not just about religious beliefs and attending Church services, but that it is something that changes our whole lives. The Christianity described in this book is not of a particular denomination, or what you may find in the mainstream religious Christianity. It describes the original faith, the one that Jesus, the Messiah and His disciples believed, lived and taught. It is not the Christianity that came about after many traditions were added. This book shows through scripture, and original Christianity from early church history, what the life of a true believer should look like. Through this journey, the reader is reminded why a True Christian would or would not do certain things- because he or she is an ambassador – following the ways, rules and beliefs of the Kingdom which he or she represents. The Kingdom of God!This book also helps the reader to ‘count the cost’ of what it means to be a true follower of Christ. It is all or nothing, no half measures. Once again Dr Thiel explains thoroughly, using scriptures, of why this is so. It is not possible to truly be a Christian in name only, to say the words ‘I believe’, but it must be in action. A person must wholly and fully commit their own will to following Jesus in the ways of the truth according to the Bible.
The book describes how a Christian builds character in order to fulfil his or her potential but is clear to also explain that the good works that a Christian does are not what ‘earns’ salvation. Dr Thiel makes it clear that salvation is through faith in what Jesus has done for us, but also makes it clear that a reason we were saved, was in order to do good works!
Finally, the book will teach you what True Christians are working towards - being part of the Kingdom of God. What this truly means may surprise you! The truth of the future purpose of believers and followers of Christ when Jesus returns to establish His kingdom on earth, is in your Bible. This book will open up the scriptures to help you understand what has been hidden from many churches. If you consider yourself a Christian or are interested in becoming a Christian; if you are seeking the truth according to the Word of God, then read this book to find out what your Bible has to say about being an Ambassador for the Kingdom of God.
