What was the Original Language of the New Testament?

Was the New Testament originally written in Aramaic, Hebrew, or Greek? Did Jesus speak Syriac Aramaic or could the Peshitta be, as Assyrian Church of the East patriarch Shimun XXIII Eshai asserted in 1957, "the language spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and that the Peshitta is the text of the Church of the East which has come down from the Biblical times without any change or revision" ? What about Rylands Library Papyrus P52? What about P66 and P137? Are there over 5800 ancient Greek fragments of the New Testament? Were most of the books of the New Testament addressed to native Greek speakers? Did early church writers write in Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic? Are there 'contradictions' in the Greek that the Aramaic does not have? Were the Aramaic translators unbiased? When is the earliest Aramaic manuscript dated? Does the New Testament show the Apostle Paul speaking in Hebrew? Did Paul and Luke know Greek? Dr. Thiel addresses these and other questions in this sermon.
