In June 2014, the Temple Institute publicly announced that it may have found the 'red heifer' it believes is necessary for the Messiah to come (it will not disclose the location other than stating it is in America). They claim that Jewish law requires keeping the young cow under strict care until it reaches three years old. For what, the end of the world? What is a red heifer? What does the Bible teach about one? Why do some Jews and others feel that the arrival of a red heifer is a sign of the end of the world? Will animal sacrifices be reinstituted in Jerusalem?
