North Korea reportedly is planning terrorist attacks:
February 18, 2016
Seoul (CNN)North Korea is currently planning a “terrorist attack” on South Korea according to the South’s spy agency.
A lawmaker, briefed by the National Intelligence Service (NIS), says leader Kim Jong Un himself gave the order to make preparations.
“North Korea’s terrorist attack could be in the form of causing harms to anti-North Korean activists, North Korean defectors or government officials,” said Saenuri Party member, Lee Chul-woo, when CNN contacted his office Thursday. …
Seoul recently vowed to take “bone-numbing” measures against Pyongyang following last month’s nuclear test andthis month’s satellite launch, both of which Seoul says violate United Nations Security Council resolutions.http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/18/asia/south-korea-north-korean-terror-attack-claim/
It is not just South Korea that faces potential terrorist attacks from North Korea. North Korea also reportedly is interested in trying to launch terror attacks against the USA , including using electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons (see WND ‘Expert: North Korea prepping EMP attack on U.S.’; Canada also at risk).
And, North Korea really is an EMP threat to the USA. I have warned about this for years. An EMP attack could well be one of the ‘troubles’ that could affect the USA, Canada, and/or various others during the ‘beginning of sorrows’ that Jesus spoke of (Mark 13:8).
Today, the USA and South Korea announced plans for their largest ever joint military drill:
February 18, 2016
South Korean defense officials say the upcoming annual military drill with the United States will be the largest ever, a sign of growing tensions with North Korea over its recent tests of nuclear and ballistic missile weapons programs.
Defense Minister Han Min-koo said Thursday that about 15,000 U.S. troops will take part in the annual Key Resolve and Foal Eagle exercises when they begin next month, which is twice the number from last year. Yonhap news agency said Wednesday the nuclear-powered aircraft carrierJohn C. Stennis will take part in the annual drills, which Pyongyang always claims are preparation for a northward invasion.
South Korean intelligence officials have informed lawmakers that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has ordered preparations for terror attacks on South Koreans. …
Officials also say talks with Washington have begun on deploying an advanced U.S. missile defense system, the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), despite strong opposition from China.
“The official announcement of the possibility of THAAD deployment is a defensive measure to counter increasing nuclear and missile threats by North Korea . It’s not against any country in particular. We have been discussing these concerns on a number of occasions at various levels,” said South Korea Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se.
Tensions have been growing on the Korean peninsula over the North’s recent actions. In a speech before the National Assembly Tuesday, President Park Geun-hye pledged to take a more hardline approach towards the communist regime, aiming to convince it to either abandon its nuclear development program or face “regime collapse.” http://www.voanews.com/content/upcoming-us-south-korea-military-exercise-to-be-largest-ever/3196106.html
While this drill shows military unity against North Korea, the drill alone will not deter North Korea’s ambitions. North Korea will likely just consider the drill as a bluff, while likely condemning it as aggressiveness.
Yet, as I have long written, North Korean politicians have often been playing a dangerous game with their country and their people, and hopefully they will realize that terrorism is not in their interests.
Although North Korea is not prophesied to take over the USA (Europeis per Daniel 11:39, etc.) it certainly is possible that it may decided to actually launch one or more missiles at the USA in the future or take other “terroristic actions; cf. Leviticus 26:26.
North Korea, sadly, is certainly capable of terrorism. It has threatened the USA and its White House in the past (see North Korea threatens the White House).
If North Korea does take certain steps to sufficiently aggravate the USA into a full military conflict, it needs to realize that it likely will no longer exist as it is. At some point in time, however, I believe that both Koreas will be reunited based upon certain verses in Revelation, yet whether this will be because of a war involving the USA or something else, that is not clear.
Of course, if North Korea did so, it would not do well once the USA retaliated.
The Koreans are Asians and occupy the “land of the sunrise” (Revelation 16:2) and I believe that they are part of the kings of the east that the Book of Revelation discusses having a role in the end time (Revelation 9:16). For years I have written that I expect that they will reunify. The unification of North and South Korea is consistent with biblical prophecy. But North Korea may take unusual actions before then, and it may regret doing so.
